First Show – Positivity
That last post was more negative than it probably should have been. I mean, we just played our first show as Balance. And contrary to what you may think, we had a great time.
Here’s Randy rockin’ it out on his club kit:

He usually has this ridiculous grin on his face when he’s playing, but I thought I’d be nice and post a shot of him looking remotely serious. If you want to see the grin, come to a show.
Contrast that with this guy:

You may not be able to tell from the photo, but I’m having a blast.
I think I should take some space here to say thanks to Jay Sick for putting the show together. He really loves music and is trying his best to get it out to people and you should all check out his shows to see the new generation of NJ metal.
Another huge thank you goes to Sarge, the sound man. We rolled in with a 12-inch guitar combo, a 1968 Sunn bass head and GK 210 cab and the little Gretch kit you see above with the 18″ kick. And Sarge made us sound massive. A band can only sound as good as it’s sound man, and I thought we sounded awesome.
Finally, I’d like to say that regardless of what I said about the bands before, they were still good bands in their own right. Especially Ruins of Akora. Those guys tore shit up. If you’re into Shadows Fall / Lamb of God style metal, check these guys out. They were tons of fun to see.
I’ll leave you with a shot of Balance rocking out. Because that’s what we do.

Cheers
Brian
For real. Sarge knows what he’s doing. I don’t know if I’ve ever sounded as good or if I ever will again. Swell guy, too.
